First Annual International Faculty Fellowship Summer Institute In Israel
Applications Due March 1, 2008 for June 16-27, 2008 Institute
Applications are being accepted for a limited number of full-time faculty from all disciplines to spend June 16-27, 2008 in Israel in the Scholars for Peace in the Middle East Faculty Fellowship Summer Institute, co-sponsored by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, Ben Gurion University and the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.

The Fellowship Institute seeks to link scholars from diverse disciplines with Israeli counterparts at major institutions to explore collaborative research projects and share perspectives on academic issues in the field.
Participants will have a special opportunity to be hosted by academic peers on campuses in Israel and participate in a dialogue and exchange about issues in their own and related disciplines. Fellows and their Israeli counterparts will have opportunities to propose collaborative research and other projects in their discipline. Fellows will also have opportunities to share their work with Israeli faculty and/or students in with Fellowship presentations.
Fellows will also meet with policy makers and other experts to understand the many facets of Israeli intellectual and social life. Fellows will gain a deeper awareness of many challenges faced by the country by participating in academic exchange, networking and collaborations as well as briefing about history, the economy, politics, diplomacy, the media, culture,science and technology, law, democracy and human rights.
Expenses covered will be airfare, room, board, group ground and land transportation.
